You will be soothed with the murmuring of water and will enjoy the pleasures of fishing or canoeing, just after having your breakfast on the terrace set right on the river Sorgue. The best time to see the first local fishermen ready to swing their fishing rods!!

Le Thor is a picturesque little town built between two branches of the Sorgue river. It’s located 5 km from Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and 20 km from Avignon. Walking around will take you to the Grotte de Thouzon – impressive caves!! - 1.5 km away from the village. A great number of walking trails start there.

As you walk into the streets of Le Thor, you’ll get the chance to take a look at the church “Notre Dame du Lac” dated back to the XIIth century. You’ll be amazed by the beauty of the Town Door (belfry) dated back to the XIXth century and opening onto the ancient city walls. It is topped with the town clock and a wrought iron campanile.
